The Thanisch Winery is currently run by Sophia Thanisch, who continues the family’s winemaking tradition that spans eleven generations. The winery focuses exclusively on Riesling from the Bernkastel vineyards. Some of the vines are still original, ungrafted rootstock, which explains their popularity on the wine lists of famous restaurants around the world. The winery recently celebrated its 375th anniversary.
